Framing, Print Care and Curating Your Print

Framing suggestions, care and curation for your Limited Edition Print.

Before opening at home, I suggest bringing your print, rolled in the protective tube, directly to a framer to avoid damaging the edges.

Framing

  • Take a 0.5x photo of the space where you will display the print to show to your framer… they are often very good at helping suggest a frame style/color/material specifically for the art and your space (if they do not have a confident suggestion, find another framer).

  • If your print has deckled edges (as seen below in “Rex”) or no white border then “float” your print. If your print has a white border (as seen below in “If You Can Dream It”) then “mat” frame your print.

  • I highly recommend framing paper prints behind Tru Vue Optium Acrylic for the best anti-reflective properties… it looks as if there is nothing between you and the art:)

"If You Can Dream It" with a white border will be “mat” framed

Print Care

There are 2 things to consider when caring for your print:

  1. avoiding direct sunlight and moisture. Direct sunlight will, overtime, cause your print to dull in color… make sure to select a location in your space that gets no direct sunlight throughout the day (there are other acrylics/glasses that have very strong UV protection if necessary).

  2. If you live in a humid environment, select a location with the least amount of exposure or add a dehumidifier near your print.

Curating

  • Try and avoid hanging your print directly opposite of windows to avoid light glare.

  • It is best to hang prints in hallways or at a right angle to windows.
