“take a chance” is one of the best examples of Brent’s cRaZy stuFFed aniMAL series that began in 2018 and has over 90 pieces in the series. This painting celebrates going against the social normalities we are all conditioned towards... breaking the rules in art and in life. Framed in a hand-carved, gold-leaf Louis XV frame, that Brent specifically curated for this piece, it is a playful reflection and ode to the master portrait works that hang in major Museums around the world. Brent sees cRaZy stuFFed aniMALs as portraits of those who approach and positively enhance the world in more fun, less conventional means. Brent often says that this painting has the best “eye” he has ever created... it is primarily composed of negative-space, the white is the original primed surface. And, yes, if you ask Brent, this is how it should hang and be displayed ;)
